[Jim Cramer: Situational Awareness Liquidation Clears Forced Selling, Tech Stocks Usher in a Liberation Rally]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on August 5, according to CNBC, *Mad Money* host Jim Cramer stated that the AI-focused hedge fund Situational Awareness, founded by former OpenAI researcher Leopold Aschenbrenner, suffered significant losses last week due to high-leverage positions and was forced to liquidate. Its large-scale sell-off, along with follow-on selling by others, temporarily pushed high-quality stocks in the AI infrastructure sector into a severely undervalued range. With the forced selling cleared, the market has returned to a fundamentals-driven logic, and tech stocks have since rebounded strongly.
Cramer characterized this liquidation event as a "cleansing event," believing it thoroughly removed weak-handed positions from the market. The enterprise software sector performed particularly well, with ServiceNow's stock price surging significantly after releasing a strong quarterly report at the end of July, triggering a chain reaction of rebounds across the sector. Cramer remarked, "We all owe Leopold Aschenbrenner a huge thank you—this is his rally, though unfortunately, he couldn't personally enjoy it.
