Here’s a quick update on my current holdings: US stocks, Bitcoin, WTI.
Let’s start with oil prices. You guys probably saw it already. Market news: 'The full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is expected to be announced within hours or tomorrow.'
Plus, there’s hope for an agreement with Iran. WTI has dropped sharply, currently below $77.
I’ve mentioned before that the key issue is the navigation of the Strait of Hormuz. The short positions I’ve been holding in CL and BZ have already turned profitable. Hopefully, there won’t be any more back-and-forth on this. Been holding them for almost a month now.
Let’s see how things play out around $75. If it smoothly approaches $72, I’ll probably close the positions and exit. Falling oil prices reduce inflation expectations, which is good for US stocks and Bitcoin.
Bitcoin has bounced back to around $64 (I’ve talked about this swing opportunity many times before—check my previous posts).
As for US stocks, I’m still holding long positions in SPCX spot shares, keeping an eye on tomorrow’s earnings expectations.
Currently, it’s testing $120 but hasn’t stabilized above it yet. I’ve managed to break even on paper after riding quite a few roller coasters.
Thanks to easing geopolitical risks, which have boosted market sentiment for US stocks, and as long as other companies reporting earnings this week don’t drag things down, plus SPCX’s earnings beat expectations, Musk’s market management could help.
If all goes well, it might return to the IPO price range. But unless the 8/6 lock-up period doesn’t trigger panic selling, there’s only a chance for the price to move higher.
For my contract positions, I’m planning to exit if it goes above $120. As for my spot holdings, my cost basis is above $155.
Personally, I think $130 might be achievable, but $140 or higher feels like a risky bet. Still undecided ?? If panic spreads, the trend could really take a turn for the worse.
After all, the probability of the ideal scenario happening is really low.
Of course, all of the above is just my personal opinion, not investment advice. DYOR.
