[Y Combinator Open Sources Multi-Agent Work Platform QM, Supporting Slack and Web Deployment] DeepFlow Tech News, August 4th — Y Combinator announced the open-sourcing of its internally used multi-agent framework QM (Quartermaster), released under the MIT license. QM is designed for organizational-level collaboration scenarios, running on Slack and Web, and can be used for tasks such as searching internal documents, handling emails, managing code repositories, and tracking projects. The framework provides each user and collaboration space with independent memory, files, permissions, key views, scheduled tasks, and isolated sandboxes, while supporting consistent identity and configuration between Slack and Web. Architecturally, QM is compatible with various agent drivers such as Pi, OpenCode, Codex, and Claude Code, reducing reliance on a single vendor. In terms of security, QM offers three organizational-level security policies: Strict, Auto, and Dangerous, and sets unified restrictions on destructive commands. Y Combinator stated that QM has already been used internally for accounting, legal, events, and engineering scenarios, but it is still in its early stages and has certain shortcomings.
