[Japanese Convenience Store Giant Lawson to Test POS Machines Directly Accepting JPYC, USDC, and USDT Payments] According to official reports, Japanese convenience store giant Lawson will conduct Japan's first proof-of-concept experiment for stablecoin payments at POS cash registers on August 6 and August 17 at two stores in Tokyo. The experiment will use three stablecoins: JPYC, USDC, and USDT, with payments completed via HashPort Wallet and MetaMask wallets. Settlement will be processed through the PAYTREE multi-code payment gateway provided by Canal Payment Service, without requiring dedicated payment terminals. On August 6, the experiment will take place at the Takanawa Gateway City store using HashPort Wallet and JPYC; on August 17, it will be conducted at the Osaki Atrium store using MetaMask and USDC, USDT, and JPYC.
