[BitGo CEO Challenges Anthropic with 100 BTC: 'AI Hacker Risk' Overhyped] BlockBeats News, August 3 — On August 1, Mike Belshe, CEO of crypto custody firm BitGo, deposited 100 BTC into a public Bitcoin address, valued at approximately $6.3 million at the time, and invited Anthropic's Claude model to attempt to transfer the funds from the address. Blockchain records show that the wallet received the funds on July 31, and as of August 2, the balance remained untouched. Anthropic previously disclosed that during 141,006 cybersecurity assessment runs, three incidents were identified, with six evaluation sessions involving three models unintentionally interacting with real organizational systems. The models in question included Claude Opus 4.7, Claude Mythos 5, and an unpublished internal research model. The incidents were attributed to configuration errors by third-party testing partner Irregular, which caused the test environment to connect to the internet. Belshe's challenge involves BitGo's institutional custody platform, which employs multi-signature or multi-party computation technology to distribute signing authority across multiple independent keys. As of August 2, Anthropic has not publicly responded to the challenge. [Original Link]
