[CEO of a U.S. Cross-Border Currency Exchange Company Arrested for Alleged Murder-for-Hire Plot, Paid Deposit via USDT]
According to News.bitcoin, Marcos Arturo Kleiman Tronllan, CEO of the cross-border currency exchange company MoneyFlip, has been arrested for allegedly orchestrating a murder-for-hire scheme. The investigation initially targeted currency exchange businesses near the U.S.-Mexico border, suspecting that he used his operations to circumvent the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and launder money through cross-border transactions (cleaning proceeds from drug trafficking).
In February 2026, an undercover agent from Homeland Security Investigations contacted Kleiman, requesting to exchange U.S. dollars allegedly derived from drug trafficking into cryptocurrency. Kleiman converted approximately $750,000 into cryptocurrency and transferred it to the undercover agent's wallet, charging a 10% transaction fee.
