Strategy reported a Q2 net loss of $8.2 billion, with Bitcoin holdings up 11%. Strategy announced a second-quarter net loss of $8.2 billion, mainly due to unrealized losses on Bitcoin holdings, as Bitcoin's price dropped over 40% year-on-year. Bitcoin holdings increased by 11% in Q2, reaching a peak of 846,000 BTC before starting to reduce positions. The company has paused purchases for five consecutive weeks, prioritizing building up USD reserves instead. This year, approximately $218 million worth of Bitcoin has been sold to pay preferred stock dividends. The company has reduced convertible debt by 18% to $6.7 billion and increased USD reserves to $3.75 billion, enough to cover about two years of preferred stock dividends and interest payments. Strategy has officially launched its "Digital Credit Capital Framework" and authorized a Bitcoin sale plan of up to $1.25 billion.
