[Amazon Cloud Business Revenue Grows for the Fifth Consecutive Quarter, Strong Demand for AI Services]
According to a report by Yicai Global, Amazon's cloud computing business revenue exceeded analysts' expectations, with strong demand for artificial intelligence services driving accelerated sales growth for the fifth consecutive quarter. In a statement released on Thursday, Amazon announced that for the quarter ending June 30, its cloud computing business, Amazon Web Services (AWS), saw revenue grow by 37% to $42.2 billion. This marks the fastest growth rate since the fourth quarter of 2021. Data shows that analysts had, on average, expected AWS revenue to be $40.6 billion. AWS contributed approximately one-fifth of Amazon's revenue and the majority of its operating profit. Amazon reported that for the quarter ending June 30, the company's spending on property and equipment (net of proceeds from certain asset sales) exceeded $53 billion.
