Coldcard manufacturer Coinkite has issued a security notice stating that wallets created using Mk3 devices with firmware versions 4.0.1 (March 2021) to 5.0.3 may face potential fund risks. Version 5.0.3 is the final firmware version supported by Mk3. Initial analysis indicates that Mk4, Q, and Mk5 models are not affected. Coinkite mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and a formal technical report will be released later. For affected Mk3 wallets that used a BIP-39 passphrase, the fund risk is relatively low. If you cannot immediately replace the device, users can migrate assets by adding a new BIP-39 passphrase wallet or using dice to generate seeds without relying on the device's random number generator. Coinkite recommends verifying backups, wallet fingerprints, and receiving addresses during migration, and performing a small test transaction before transferring all funds. https://(wublock123.com)/news/coldcard-mk3-wallet-migration-coinkite-warning-mnemonic-risk-65650
