The most surprising thing today was that SK Hynix was down when the Korean stock market opened, but when the U.S. market opened, it actually reversed and surged 17%. I honestly don’t quite understand the logic behind this. Some friends mentioned it’s due to a buyback, but the buyback only applies to SK Hynix, while the entire semiconductor sector seems to be trending upward. For example, Micron also rose by 19%. Could it be a sector-wide rebound? I can’t say for sure right now, but this doesn’t affect my trading strategy. After all, my approach is simply to try shorting ADRs when SK drops. For instance, in today’s situation, I exited early when I saw profits shrinking. Today, SKHYNIXUSDT went up by 12%, so tomorrow we’ll see if SK opens higher during the day. If it does, how much higher can it go? For now, I’m staying cautious about going long and might not participate. Another key point today was the core PCE data. The numbers were decent, which helped push up U.S. stocks and Bitcoin. But the main focus is still on when the U.S.-Iran conflict will end or when the Strait of Hormuz will reopen. If oil prices continue to rise, this month’s drop in PCE data won’t be enough to justify a rate cut. As for Bitcoin, I’m still being overly cautious. My two bottom-fishing orders were at $63,000 and $63,500, but it’s highly likely I missed the chance. I’ll open new positions tomorrow. If the spot price exceeds $65,000, I’ll look for buying opportunities around $63,500 and $64,000, with Monday as the expiration date. @Gate Crypto, U.S. stocks, Hong Kong stocks, Korean stocks, gold, CFDs, prediction markets—all-in-one trading platform.
