The new Fed chair's press conference? Didn't even bother listening. These things just aren't as valuable as they used to be. As for that 2% rigid target, it's downright laughable. We've been off the 2% inflation target for years now. These days, hitting 2.5% would already be something to celebrate. Look at the past data—it was always fluctuating between 1.6-2.5%. That's what you call keeping it under 2%. Back in the day, when Chiang Kai-shek lost the mainland, didn't he also set some rigid, unshakable goal of 'we'll be back'? The only way to get back to 2% now is through a deep recession. Then comes the money printer, then another de-peg, and slowly, the dollar system will come to an end.
