[New York AI Detection Company Pangram Secures $9 Million in Funding, Led by Menlo Ventures] According to TechCrunch, New York-based AI detection startup Pangram has completed a $9 million funding round, led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from Haystack, ScOp, Script Capital, and Cadenza. Pangram simultaneously launched its next-generation text detection model, Pangram 4, and image detection model, Pangram Image. The company claims that the former achieves over 99% accuracy in detecting pure AI or human-AI hybrid writing and can identify 'AI-enhanced' content as well as humanized tools designed to bypass detection. Its system is trained on tens of millions of human documents and corresponding 'synthetic mirrors,' using differences in style and word choice to determine whether content is AI-generated, without relying on watermarks.
