Binance and the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) provided blockchain analysis and wallet tracking to assist investigators in tracing crypto fund flows, identifying associated wallets, and freezing related crypto assets. Investigators stated that Team Kalki used encrypted communication platform Session, dark web forum Dread, and "dead drop" delivery methods to distribute drugs sourced from international suppliers. Law enforcement agencies seized thousands of drug items from domestic and international packages linked to the network. Binance's Asia-Pacific Head S.B. Seker noted that blockchain's transparent infrastructure enables law enforcement to more effectively trace and investigate illegal transactions. Binance CEO Richard Teng posted on X on July 27, stating that Binance and DSCI assisted NCB in combating the dark web drug network by tracking on-chain fund flows.
