[ETF Boom Sweeps South Korean Market, Individual Investors' Net Purchases Near 70 Trillion KRW] BlockBeats News, July 26: According to South Korean media reports, as the exchange-traded fund (ETF) market in South Korea has grown rapidly this year, the net purchase amount of ETFs by individual investors has reached 70 trillion KRW. This accounts for 70% of the main board purchase amount. Even though the South Korean stock market experienced a pullback this month, retail investors' net purchases have continued to grow. According to data released on the 26th by the Korea Exchange (KRX) and financial data company Yonhap Infomax, as of the 24th, the net purchase amount of ETFs by South Korean individual investors this year reached 69.5 trillion KRW, nearing 70 trillion KRW. During the same period, the net purchase amount by individual investors in the main board market was 109.9 trillion KRW, accounting for 63.2% of the total net purchases by individuals in the main board market. In other words, for every 10 million KRW invested by retail investors in the main board, 6.3 million KRW was used to purchase ETFs.
