[Kalshi Accuses Netflix of Defamation, Demands Removal of Prediction Market Documentary Trailer]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Prediction market operator Kalshi issued a cease-and-desist letter to Netflix on July 24, accusing the trailer for its new documentary *Instadocs: The Prediction Games* of defamation and demanding the trailer be taken down and publicly corrected before the film's premiere on July 26.
Kalshi claims the trailer features a fabricated trading slip, implying that it permits Nevada sports betting and violates a state court order. The company stated that the receipt shown in the footage is dated May 16, 2025, and the phone interface displays the word "crop," which does not match the style of its platform.
Netflix denied fabricating the footage, asserting that the transaction in question occurred in May 2025, prior to Nevada's restrictions taking effect, and that the scene was filmed during a private event in Las Vegas. Nevada regulators have required Kalshi to complete geofencing deployment by August 12, or face a daily fine of $120,000.
