Hackers have started compromising PCs through the popular co-op game Meccha Chameleon. Here’s how it works: a special script is embedded in user-created maps that steals your data and files and installs a backdoor for remote access to your PC. The researcher who discovered the vulnerability recommends not downloading third-party maps and uninstalling any that have already been downloaded. The vulnerability allows malicious custom maps to execute code on your computer. If you’ve run such, your system may be compromised: it’s recommended that you uninstall the game, reinstall Windows, change all your passwords, and reconfigure two-factor authentication.
