[Citrini Analyst: Still Bullish on Storage, Negative News Gaining More Attention]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Citrini analyst Jukan posted on the X platform, stating that recent bearish views and rumors about NAND seem to be circulating, particularly from China, along with negative news related to QLC price negotiations. He noted that it is not surprising that SanDisk signed a long-term agreement with Meta at a price lower than the initial offer. Among NAND manufacturers, SanDisk has been the most proactive in securing long-term agreements and plans to allocate more than 50% of its total shipments to such agreements. Based on this strategy, SanDisk is clearly willing to accept long-term agreement pricing below the current quarterly contract price. Therefore, he believes this does not imply that SanDisk cannot successfully shift all its shipments to higher-paying North American customers.
Chinese module manufacturers are reportedly facing rejection when attempting to sell more enterprise-grade SSDs to Chinese CSPs, which he understands is due to Chinese CSPs having direct procurement channels with YMTC. Additionally, there have been recent reports that hyperscale cloud service providers are pushing down QLC enterprise-grade SSD prices, leading to some shipments not being absorbed. However, he understands that neocloud providers have sufficient demand to absorb these shipments.
In the context of poor performance in storage stocks, negative headlines seem to be gaining more attention. He remains bullish on storage.
