[Wise Plans to Resubmit U.S. National Trust Bank License Application Under the GENIUS Act Framework] Odaily Planet Daily News – According to a report by William Blair, cross-border payment company Wise plans to resubmit its application for a national trust bank license under the stablecoin regulatory framework of the U.S. 'GENIUS Act.' Previously, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) had rejected its original application. In a letter dated July 21, the OCC stated that Wise's application was incompatible with the Federal Reserve's new policy on access to the payment system's Master Account. William Blair analysts pointed out that while the approval of the license would have originally helped Wise gain more direct access to the U.S. domestic payment system, the Federal Reserve has effectively paused granting Master Accounts and is currently formulating new policies for 'payment accounts.' However, William Blair believes that Wise's resubmission does not signify a major shift in its stablecoin strategy. Analysts do not expect the company to significantly alter its stance on stablecoins but rather to adjust its application path in alignment with the new regulatory framework under the GENIUS Act.
