Google to Allow Users to Log into Accounts via Selfie Videos

According to a report by Golden Finance, on July 23, Google (GOOG.US) is introducing a new selfie video login feature, providing an alternative for users who are unable to log in due to device loss or forgotten passwords. Users can set up a selfie video through a brief online process, which includes several guided head movements to allow the device's camera to capture multiple angles. Google's parent company, Alphabet, stated on Thursday that these saved videos will be used to compare with real-time videos submitted during subsequent logins. Google has been testing various verification methods, which are not limited to account login purposes. For example, in collaboration with third-party company Private ID, selfie verification is used to confirm users' ages to ensure they can access age-restricted content.
