Chinese brain computer interface breakthrough achieves synchronous EEG signal acquisition across thousands of people for the first time across regions On July 23rd, according to CCTV Finance, brain computer interfaces are an important track for the future global industry, and large-scale, high-quality EEG data is the core foundation for promoting technology from the laboratory to industrialization. Yesterday afternoon, a Chinese research team released a new type of EEG signal acquisition device, which for the first time achieved synchronous EEG signal acquisition across thousands of people in different regions worldwide, taking a crucial step towards the development of universal technology for neural model training and brain computer interface. The R&D team introduced that achieving cross regional synchronous data collection for thousands of people has overcome two major technical difficulties: one is to ensure signal acquisition accuracy while miniaturizing the equipment, and the other is to overcome the impact of network latency and achieve millisecond level time alignment between multiple devices and regions, ensuring that different EEG signals can be analyzed uniformly. In the future, large-scale EEG acquisition technology will continue to accumulate data for training neural base models. This also means that AI's learning materials will no longer be limited to indirect information such as text, images, and videos, but can directly understand human cognitive states through neural signals.
