[OpenAI Plans to Invest Over $30 Billion to Build New Data Centers] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on July 22, OpenAI announced on Wednesday that it will invest $20 billion to launch a data center project named 'Camellia' in Effingham County, Georgia. Sachin Katti, OpenAI's Vice President of Compute Strategy, stated that the company has signed a contract with Georgia Power to secure 3.2 gigawatts of power supply between 2028 and 2032. The project cost is estimated to potentially exceed $30 billion, which could make this facility one of OpenAI's largest data centers to date. According to informed sources, OpenAI has hired Brent Mayo to help ensure the data center project progresses as planned.
