[Institution: AI Infrastructure Spending Expected to Grow 56% to $497 Billion by 2026, Arm Architecture to Replace x86 as Mainstream Computing Platform]
Golden Finance reported on July 22 that, according to data from research firm IDC, AI infrastructure spending in the first quarter of 2026 is projected to reach $89.7 billion. Rack-level GPU servers based on Arm architecture are expected to replace x86 processors, becoming the mainstream accelerated computing platform. IDC has also revised its forecast for full-year AI infrastructure spending in 2026 to $497 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of nearly 56%, primarily driven by increased capital expenditures from hyperscale cloud service providers and emerging non-GPU AI demands. The global AI infrastructure market size is expected to surpass $1 trillion by 2029, reaching $1.08 trillion, and climb to $1.21 trillion by 2030, with a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 30% starting from 2025.
