[Claude Follows Codex: Generate Reusable Skills by Recording a Screen] According to monitoring by Beating, Anthropic has added a 'Record a skill' feature to its office agent, Claude Cowork. Users can perform a task once while narrating the process. Claude will record the screen, clicks, keyboard inputs, and voice. The system then converts the demonstration into a Skill (a reusable workflow). For similar tasks in the future, users can directly run the Skill without rewriting the steps. Previously, creating a Claude Skill typically required manually writing a SKILL.md file, organizing scripts, resources, and templates. Now, users only need to demonstrate the task to Claude, significantly lowering the barrier for non-technical users to create automated workflows. However, Claude is not the first to implement this. On June 18, OpenAI introduced a similar 'Record & Replay' feature for Codex. Both platforms even named the entry point 'Record a skill.' The Claude version is currently available for Pro, Max, and Team plans, accessible via the '+' menu in the desktop app's Cowork section. [Original link]
