Temasek Holdings said advances in artificial intelligence could materially change energy demand and relieve stress on power grids. Russell Tham, head of emerging technologies in Temasek’s global investments, said more efficient AI architectures, materials-discovery innovations and chip-manufacturing improvements could lower the sector’s energy footprint. Heavy grid loads and rising power prices are pushing data-centre operators to explore alternative power solutions.
