The crypto industry organization The Digital Chamber (TDC) has filed a lawsuit against the state of Illinois, seeking to block the implementation of the 'Digital Asset Tax Act.' This act, set to take effect next year, proposes a 0.2% tax on all crypto transactions, targeting entities headquartered in Illinois or those with annual revenues exceeding $100,000. TDC argues that the tax violates the U.S. Constitution's Commerce Clause, the state constitution's uniformity and due process clauses, as well as the Internet Tax Freedom Act, and has requested the court to prohibit the state government from enforcing it.
