**[Apple to Partner with Klarna to Launch "Upgrade" Device Leasing Program to Boost Sales]**
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 21, Apple (AAPL.O) plans to launch a leasing program called "Apple Upgrade," which will mark one of the biggest changes ever to the company's device sales model. According to informed sources, the service is expected to go live on July 28, initially rolling out in the U.S. market and supporting most iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch models.
Apple will collaborate with the Klarna Group, which will provide financial backing for the project. The program will first launch in the U.S. and will be available simultaneously in Apple’s physical retail stores and online platforms.
The service will adopt a subscription-like model, allowing users to pay for devices during the lease period, upgrade to new products early, or retain the device after the lease term ends. In some cases, early upgrades may require additional fees. Similar to car leasing models, users can also return the device at the end of the lease term.
The leasing period for iPhones and Apple Watches will be 24 months, while for Macs and iPads, it will be 36 months.
