The way semiconductors are moving looks shaky.
At the open, SMH surged to 582, SOXX jumped 3.6%,
then slid all the way back to 573,
giving up all the gains.
NVDA only up 0.7%—not exactly the leader pulling the pack.
AVGO followed with 1%, but still not strong enough.
This kind of move is most likely driven by passive ETF buying.
Consumer is flat, financials aren’t moving, energy is just 0.3%.
Aside from semiconductors, no one else in the market is following.
Pulling the cart with one leg won’t go far.
I’m not chasing this.
This move feels like a fake breakout.
