After DTCC puts stocks on-chain, the biggest problem it can solve should be how to handle the clearing process if stock tokens are used as collateral in DeFi. After all, this is legally equivalent to real stocks, combined with near on-chain real-time settlement. Other solutions face issues like unclear legal ownership, settlement delays, and disconnection between on-chain and off-chain systems.
