[Charles Schwab, which once planned to launch a prediction market product, reports better-than-expected earnings with record retail trading volume] According to Bloomberg, Charles Schwab announced second-quarter earnings that exceeded market expectations, driven by geopolitical uncertainties and increased retail high-frequency trading activity. The average daily revenue trades for the quarter reached a record 11.9 million, up 57% year-over-year, while trading revenue rose 28% year-over-year to $1.2 billion. Quarterly net revenue was $7.07 billion, a 21% increase year-over-year, surpassing analysts' expectations of $6.92 billion. Schwab previously raised its full-year revenue growth forecast to 14%–15% and stated it would leverage artificial intelligence to enhance retail client services while continuing to attract capital inflows. Net new assets for the quarter reached $118.7 billion, exceeding market expectations. The company also plans to launch prediction market products tied to financial events.
