[Citigroup Strategists Say U.S. Stock Position Unwinding May Not Be Over]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 21, Citigroup stated that U.S. stock index futures are undergoing a position reset, but there may still be further room for unwinding. Strategists including David Chew wrote that due to the recent sell-off in artificial intelligence and technology stocks triggering widespread de-risking, U.S. stock positions have deteriorated sharply, with overall capital flows in large-cap stocks showing a bearish trend. Notably, the position adjustments in the S&P 500 Index are primarily driven by long position unwinding, while the Nasdaq Index adjustments exhibit a more aggressive combination of long position unwinding and the establishment of new short positions, bringing its positioning to the lowest level in a month.
