The attackers briefly disabled the site and altered the homepage content, demanding a ransom of 5 Bitcoin. William Kabogo, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communication, and the Digital Economy, stated that Kenya's ICT Authority immediately activated cybersecurity response protocols. To manage the situation and conduct forensic investigations, public access to the portal has been temporarily restricted.
