1. Futures for the three major U.S. stock indices rose moderately. Dow Jones futures up 0.26%, S&P 500 futures up 0.45%, Nasdaq 100 futures up 0.92%.
2. International oil prices saw a short-term surge. WTI crude oil futures rose 0.08% to $81.843 per barrel; Brent crude oil futures rose 0.28% to $88.345 per barrel. On the news front, Houthi forces announced a "maritime navigation ban" targeting Saudi Arabia.
