According to TASS, the Russian State Duma will hold second and third readings of a bill on July 21 regarding the regulation of the cryptocurrency market within Russia. The bill, introduced by the Chairman of the Financial Markets Committee, Anatoly Aksakov, aims to establish a legal framework for the legitimate use of cryptocurrencies in Russia and to combat related fraud and illegal activities. Based on the regulatory proposals previously put forward by the Russian Central Bank, in addition to qualified investors, ordinary investors may also purchase highly liquid crypto assets defined by legislation after passing a test, but the annual purchase limit is restricted to no more than 300,000 rubles per intermediary institution.
