Blackstone Group to Invest in South Korean Robotics Supplier Futronic

According to a report by Golden Finance, Blackstone Group's private equity fund will make a "significant investment" in South Korean robotics supplier Futronic, though the exact amount has not been disclosed. Futronic's founder, Ko Jin-ho, will continue to serve as Chairman and CEO and will collaborate with Blackstone to accelerate the company's global development.
"Like us, Blackstone is committed to providing advanced mechatronic solutions to esteemed clients and partners. Their unique scale and global platform will help drive our expansion and solidify our leadership in the field of drive and motion control solutions," said Ko Jin-ho.
Founded in 1993, Futronic manufactures high-precision actuators for automotive and industrial robotics. In recent years, the company has expanded its business into emerging areas of the mobility market, including humanoid robots and general-purpose robots.
Eugene Cook, Head of Blackstone Private Equity Korea, stated that Futronic's R&D and engineering capabilities position it favorably in the fast-growing automotive and robotics markets. Song Kyung-min, Head of Blackstone Private Equity, remarked that as AI enters the physical world, Blackstone believes Futronic's expertise in actuators and motion control will serve as a critical driving force.
