SK hynix has also informed key partners of its decision to terminate its internal CXL controller development project and has reassigned related personnel to focus on processing-in-memory (PIM) initiatives. Samsung Electronics, on the other hand, is reportedly using its in-house CXL controllers solely for internal research purposes, while sourcing controllers from fabless suppliers for external products.
