[Hong Kong Financial Secretary: Optimized Plan to Support SMEs in Using AI to Be Launched]
According to Xinhua News Agency, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government plans to launch an optimized version of the 'Digital Transformation Support Pilot Program' within this year, subsidizing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to adopt existing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to accelerate digital transformation. Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po stated that under the 'One Country, Two Systems' framework, Hong Kong has the advantage of connecting the mainland and the international community, serving as a hub for AI research and development as well as a key node for mainland AI companies to expand overseas. The government is strengthening AI infrastructure development, with the completion of the San Tin Data Campus expected to provide approximately 180,000 PFlops of computing power by 2032, equivalent to 36 times Hong Kong's current total computing power. Additionally, efforts are being made to establish AI research institutes, increase investment in hard technology through the Hong Kong Investment Corporation, promote 'AI for All,' and encourage young people to actively apply AI in their studies and entrepreneurial endeavors.
