The AI layout in Hong Kong has progressed step by step and entered the stage of system layout, striving to empower thousands of industries with AI.
Chen Maobo stated that as an international innovation and technology center, Hong Kong, with its advantages of internal and external connectivity under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, is not only a place for AI research and development transformation, but also a strategic adaptation site for mainland AI enterprises to go global, which can assist in aligning cutting-edge technologies and business models with international standards and applications.
He stated that the SAR government attaches great importance to AI related infrastructure and ecological construction. The Shaling Data Park has started construction and will provide approximately 180000 PFlops of computing power by 2032, which is equivalent to 36 times the current total computing power in Hong Kong; The artificial intelligence research and development institute is also about to be put into operation; The Hong Kong Investment Corporation, wholly owned by the SAR government, invested 56% of its funds in various projects last year, including hard technology such as AI.
Chen Maobo said that technological innovation and AI have quickly become indispensable elements in life.
