[Paul Chan: Hong Kong to Provide Approximately 180,000 PFLOPS of Computing Power by 2032, AI Development Enters Systematic Layout Phase] DeepTech TechFlow reports that on July 19, Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan published a blog post, highlighting that artificial intelligence is advancing toward application at various levels, including transitioning from conversational AI to embodied intelligence in the physical world, moving from the digital realm to the physical world, and permeating different aspects of life. The Hong Kong AI+ and Industry Development Strategy Committee has already discussed key areas such as scientific research and innovation, data flow and security, computing power infrastructure, application scenarios, talent cultivation, and funding investment. This marks Hong Kong's AI development moving from incremental progress to a systematic layout phase. In terms of computing power, by 2032, Hong Kong is expected to provide approximately 180,000 PFLOPS of computing power, equivalent to 36 times the current total computing power in Hong Kong. Last year, 56% of the funds invested by Hong Kong Investment Management Limited into various projects were allocated to hard technologies, including AI, and efforts were made to promote the ecosystem development of the RISC-V open-source architecture.
