[SpaceX in Talks to Provide Billions of Dollars in Computing Power for U.S. Defense Department AI Projects]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on July 18, the Wall Street Journal reported that sources revealed SpaceX (SPCX.O) is in discussions with the U.S. Department of Defense, aiming to provide computing power worth billions of dollars to run artificial intelligence models, further strengthening the collaboration between Elon Musk's company and the Department of Defense. These negotiations are still ongoing but could ultimately fall through. According to individuals familiar with the plans, SpaceX has signed similar agreements with Anthropic and Google in recent months and is currently planning to significantly expand its cloud computing business. Sources also disclosed that in recent weeks, SpaceX employees have discussed plans to offer computing power to AI clients at lower prices, thereby competing more directly with existing providers like CoreWeave.
