Reports say the conflict in Iran has disrupted Qatar’s LNG shipments via the Strait of Hormuz, prompting Pakistan to seek additional spot cargoes. Islamabad plans to buy at least one spot cargo for July delivery and may procure up to six cargoes for August. AKD Securities research head Muhammad Awais Ashraf said hot summer weather and reduced solar output have raised power demand, forcing greater reliance on LNG-fired generation. Earlier this week the government paid the highest spot price since 2022 for one cargo; Pakistan has so far purchased four July-delivery spot cargoes.(金十数据)
