[Data Shows Shipping Activity in the Strait of Hormuz Remains Sluggish] According to a report by Jinse Finance on July 16, citing CCTV, shipping activity in the Strait of Hormuz remains at a low level. Data released by the international market service provider Kpler indicates that only 13 commercial vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz on the 16th, with 8 departing the Persian Gulf and 5 entering it. The traffic volume is approximately one-tenth of the pre-war average level. It is reported that on the 16th, only one bulk carrier entering the Persian Gulf chose the southern route near the Omani coast, which is recommended by the U.S. military. Most vessels still navigated along the route near the Iranian coast. However, due to some ships turning off their transponders, the actual number of passages may be higher than the reported data.
