[AWS Launches AI-DLC and Kiro Tools to Address Pain Points in AI Programming: 'Low Efficiency, Weak Security']
According to a report by Jinse Finance, AWS Korea held a press conference at its Seoul headquarters on the 16th to unveil the AI-Driven Development Methodology (AI-DLC) and the specification-based development tool Kiro. These tools aim to tackle current pain points in AI programming, such as 'fast code generation, low delivery efficiency, and high security risks.'
AWS stated that 94% of enterprises have not achieved expected results after introducing AI into software development. The primary reason is that existing AI tools mainly focus on the coding phase, which accounts for only about 20% of the entire development process. AI-DLC integrates AI throughout the full lifecycle of requirements design, development, testing, and operations. By enabling continuous validation, manual approvals, and full-process traceability, it synchronously generates code, requirements documents, design documents, and operations manuals.
AWS noted that several Korean companies have already seen significant results: LG Electronics' MS Business Division doubled its development efficiency, CJ Olive Young completed five project MVPs within three days, and the development cycle for a large B2B platform project was reduced from two weeks to one week.
At the same time, AWS introduced the development tool Kiro, which can first generate requirements and design documents before proceeding with code development. It also integrates features such as automated testing, security checks, and external system connections. According to AWS's test results, under the same model, Kiro's development costs can be reduced to one-sixth to one-tenth of similar tools. (Jin10)
