[South Korean Science Minister: Sovereign AI for Cybersecurity to Launch This Year] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 16, South Korean Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon stated on Thursday that to address the growing security threats in the digital domain, South Korea will launch a sovereign artificial intelligence (AI) model focused on cybersecurity by the end of this year. Previously, the United States abruptly imposed export controls on advanced AI models, including Anthropic's 'Mythos 5,' which specializes in vulnerability detection, sparking increasing concerns over digital security. During a policy briefing hosted by South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the Blue House, Bae Kyung-hoon said: 'We are working to develop an AI model focused on cybersecurity within this year by training our existing sovereign AI model with security-related data.'
