[Hanmi Semiconductor Plans to Build a New Factory in South Korea]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on July 16, South Korea's *Maeil Business Newspaper* reported, citing an interview with Hanmi Semiconductor Chairman Kwon Dong-shin, that due to an anticipated shortage of AI semiconductor equipment starting next year, Hanmi Semiconductor is considering constructing its eighth production facility. Once completed, this factory will become the company's largest site. Kwon Dong-shin predicts that starting next year, the demand for semiconductor equipment will exceed supply. The planned eighth factory will be located adjacent to the seventh factory currently under construction in Incheon. Hanmi Semiconductor stated that as global chip manufacturers expand their investments, the market demand for the company's hot press bonding machines and hybrid bonding machines will grow rapidly. The company also plans to establish a U.S. subsidiary, Hanmi America, in San Jose, California, by the end of 2026 to strengthen technical support services. (Jin10)
