[Trump Criticizes New York State AI Data Center Moratorium, Urges State Government to 'Immediately' Adjust Policy] According to Sina Finance, U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul's newly issued moratorium on data centers. He posted on Truth Social, stating that after New York became the first state in the nation to implement such a ban, its policy should be 'immediately' changed. He wrote: 'Data centers are one of the biggest drivers of future employment. They are massive, powerful, and ambitious, and for the state, they are essentially "money printers." Governor Kathy Hochul has halted all ongoing or planned data center projects in New York State for political reasons.' This new state executive order, signed by the governor on Tuesday, prohibits the construction of large data centers with power consumption reaching or exceeding 50 megawatts for up to one year. In his post, Trump also urged that data centers 'must' pay for their own water and electricity costs, and any remaining resources should be returned to state and local communities.
