Starknet Launches Privacy Development Suite to Support Developers in Building Privacy DeFi Applications
Foresight News|Jul 15, 2026 11:57
Foresight News reports, according to the Starknet blog, Starknet has launched a privacy development suite, officially introducing the Privacy SDK and Privacy Wallet API for developers. This allows any wallet or application to integrate its privacy capabilities without the need to build underlying infrastructure. The Privacy SDK, now available, is a TypeScript client (Apache 2.0 license) designed for wallets and advanced integrators. The Privacy Wallet API, on the other hand, is targeted at regular DApps, enabling developers to use starknet.js to call functions such as shielding, transferring, unshielding, and swapping without directly handling viewing keys or zero-knowledge proofs.
Starknet stated that its privacy token standard STRK20 has previously been launched on the mainnet, supporting the conversion of any ERC-20 token into assets with shielded balances and private transfer functionality. This is achieved through zero-knowledge STARK proofs for on-chain verification without disclosing the sender, receiver, or transaction amount. Currently, multiple ecosystem projects, including avnu, Troves, ForgeYields, Ready, Xverse, and Ekubo, are developing based on this privacy stack.
