At this point, memes aren’t going anywhere. They’re simply more relatable than most of what this industry builds. The average person doesn’t care how your protocol works. They don’t care about TPS, consensus mechanisms, or the latest technical upgrade. They care about whether they understand it. Think about X. Nobody downloads X because they care what language it was written in or what servers it’s running on. They download it because they want to post. Crypto isn’t any different. Memes get people through the door. Then they discover Bitcoin. Then Ethereum. Solana. Cardano. The rest of the ecosystem. That’s why I’ve always believed memes are one of the greatest onboarding tools this industry has ever had. And if you’re building a major protocol, I’d be doing everything I could to earn mindshare with the meme economy. Culture always comes before adoption.(David Gokhshtein)
