[Israeli Media: U.S. Pressures to Lift Restrictions at Ben Gurion Airport] According to a report by Golden Finance on July 15, citing Israel's public broadcaster today (July 15), Israel lifted restrictions on U.S. military aerial refueling aircraft landing at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion International Airport following a request from the United States. The report states that the Israel Airports Authority has issued instructions to air traffic control, allowing U.S. military refueling aircraft to continue landing and parking at Ben Gurion Airport. This decision overturns a previous directive by Israeli Transportation Minister Regev, which prohibited U.S. military refueling aircraft from exceeding landing limits at Ben Gurion Airport. The report also mentions that Ben Gurion Airport had previously requested the relocation of U.S. military refueling aircraft to other locations to free up parking spaces and avoid disrupting summer civilian flight operations. However, sources indicated that given the ongoing escalation of tensions between the U.S. and Iran, the U.S. Central Command needs to maintain a high state of readiness for refueling aircraft and their crews in Israel. As a result, the U.S. requested Israel to lift the related restrictions. (CCTV International News)
