Zero-knowledge proof and distributed computing project Boundless announced that it has expanded its computing network, consisting of approximately 4,000 GPUs, to support AI inference tasks. Previously, the network was primarily used for handling zero-knowledge proof tasks related to the Ethereum mainnet and Base. It has now completed hardware optimization, workload adaptation, routing, and scheduling upgrades for AI inference, while the original ZK proof network will continue to operate in parallel. In the future, AI compute operators will need to stake ZKC to join the network, with the staking amount tied to potential earnings. The company stated that early testing of certain asynchronous inference tasks showed costs up to 50% lower than major cloud service providers.
