[SK Hynix Initiates Equipment Procurement for Yongin Y1 Wafer Plant, Plans to Build Pilot Production Line in February Next Year]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that SK Hynix has begun procuring advanced DRAM manufacturing equipment for its Y1 wafer plant located in Yongin, South Korea, with an initial planned capacity of approximately 20,000 wafers per month. SK Hynix plans to move up the activation timeline for Y1 Phase 1 from the originally scheduled May next year to February next year and will begin constructing the pilot production line in February. Large-scale equipment installation will follow in March to April. The wafer plant aims to produce sixth-generation 10nm-class 1c DRAM, which will be used in AI server-related DDR and LPDDR products, and is planned for application in next-generation HBM4E.
